Rheumatology
Brian Golden, MD
Clinical Professor, Department of Medicine at NYU Grossman School of Medicine Board Certifications American Board of Internal Medicine
I had two major role models—both physicians—along the road to becoming a rheumatologist. The first was my grandfather, who was certified in both neurology and psychiatry. He was an “old school” doctor. As a young man, I enjoyed speaking with him about the way he cared for patients and his empathic and humanistic approach to medicine. I believe I have succeeded in emulating these qualities in my own practice, to this day. My other role model was one of my rheumatology professors in medical school
