My research has focused on the exercise limit in chronic heart and lung disease, with particular attention paid to interactions between the skeletal muscle mitochondrion and an abnormal pulmonary vasculature using a unique and innovative approach that includes phosphorus magnetic resonance spectroscopy of limb skeletal muscle and a variety of biomarkers from invasive cardiopulmonary exercise testing. I was the first MGH scientist in a decade to receive the NIH General Clinical Research Center CA
