Dr. Laurie Frakes completed her B.S. in biochemistry at the University of Waterloo in Ontario, Canada, and received a master's degree in immunology from the University of Calgary in Alberta, Canada. She then completed medical school and a residency in internal medicine at the University of Calgary, followed by a fellowship in hematology/oncology at the Scripps Clinic and Research Foundation in La Jolla, California.
