She received her medical degree from the Tongji University School of Medicine in Shanghai, China, and her Doctorate in Cell and Molecular Biology from the University of Texas at Austin. While in Austin, Dr. Zhao completed an internship in Internal Medicine at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, and then went on to study Oncology and Hematology at The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center and Wexner Medical Cent
