Dr. Rajapakse received her medical education from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland and holds an advanced degree from the Royal College of Physicians in Edinburgh, United Kingdom. She trained in Gastroenterology at Lenox Hill Hospital in Manhattan. She joined the Stony Brook faculty in 2000 and currently serves as Director of the Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) Center.
