Dr. Alexanian is a pioneering figure in multiple myeloma research who spent nearly five decades at MD Anderson Cancer Center. He developed the MP (melphalan-prednisone) regimen that became the standard of care for myeloma and co-developed the VAD regimen with Bart Barlogie. He received the Waldenstrom Award in 2001 for his contributions.
