Dr. Steve Thatcher graduated from the Medical College of Wisconsin and then completed his radiation oncology residency at the University of Minnesota. He stayed on with University of Minnesota faculty and started the Minneapolis VA's first stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT) program.
